There isn’t much information on how to care for an infant’s hair, especially if you baby has curly hair like Miss E’s. So, I developed my own regimen. It took some trial and error, but I finally found something that works.
I know that as long as I keep her hair in a protective style, it will grow and be healthy. I am more concerned with the healthy of her hair than length. I know that as long as her hair is healthy, it will grow. With Miss E being an infant she still spends a lot of time with her hair in contact with fabric, this can cause her hair to become dry and prone to breakage. So, infant hair care is very important.
When attempting to style the baby’s hair you MUST remember:
- To be gentle, as their scalps are still very tender
- Avoid the use of rubber bands, these will cause breakage.
- Don’t braid the hair tight. We don’t want to make them uncomfortable. We also don’t want to cause breakage ,especially around the edges.
- Entertain them while doing their hair. This will make the process easier for you and baby.
- KEEP IT SIMPLE
